Arts The rocky coast and snug harbors of MidCoast Maine have inspired generations of artists and writers. Andrew Wyeth. Edna St. Vincent-Millay. Rockwell Kent. The region is a lodestone for artists, who come to see where their heroes lived and worked – and often stay to explore their own creativity.

(Perhaps the long winter nights nurture an introspection that allows art to blossom. Perhaps the glorious summer days unleash a joy that must be expressed. Or maybe it's just that Yankee urge to make something out of nothing.)

The result is studiosart galleriesmuseumsmusic festivalstheaters and performing arts centers, with exhibits and concerts scheduled year-round throughout the region celebrating accomplished MidCoast artists and artisans.
